Goddess Sekhmet:

Into your Womb I Reside

Debbie Irvine

I stand humbly before you

Sekhmet, Goddess of the Temple.

You place your two paws gently on my shoulders

And gaze into my eyes

I feel you draw me in

Reading my Heart and Soul.

I disappear through the deep pools of your eyes and the iridescent Eyes of Ra

Into new dimensions within your field and body.

I slide down your throat

Casting off the debris and detritus of my Life.

Your esophagus squeezes and pulses against my body

Separating off the old, hard, dead pieces that are stuck and embedded deep within me.

I find myself in your belly

In the darkness, safety and warmth of your womb.

I feel you caress and hold me as I see myself curled in the fetal position

Knowing that I can rest here between the old and the new of my future Life.

I know that I am gestating willingly within you

Dissolving all my unnecessary and excess wounds and patterns.

I am being purified and replenished by your juices

And my Heart is being strengthened and realigned by your Heart and Breath.

I trust you completely

That you will know when I am fully re-formed.

I rest and await my future movement through your birth canal

When I shall be ready to re-enter this world as a new woman-child of yours.

With Love and Gratitude

To My Compassionate Cosmic Mother Goddess Sekhmet.

I will meet you face to face in Egypt in 2020 in your personal temple

To Honor my Initiation into your womb,

My rebirth, rites of passage, responsibilities and our new relationship.

Goddess Sekhmet: Fire in the Belly

I Am Woman Hear Me Roar

Debbie Irvine

I am fused with Sekhmet

Her body is mine and I am She.

She-we are pawing the ground

Red and Orange tongues of Fire spew from her mouth

She-we are shaking her head and releasing a huge Belly Roar!

The words and music come to me across the sands of time:

“I Am Woman Hear Me Roar”

The red ribbon I wrapped your Christmas presents with

That I chose to use as my ball of twine to tie my knots

of pain, manipulation, control, deceit

and of my acquiescence, silence and dis-empowerment

has become the red flames of anger and release

of burning fire and transformation.

The roar that rises from my belly

Shouts my own voice and independence,

my rights for respect, honesty, openness and Equal Love.

No longer will I accept less or be placating and submissive.

For too long have I gift-wrapped myself

and given my power and my body over to you and to men.

After the start of tying the knots,

When I didn’t know how deeply these issues were entwined within me

Or how silenced I still was

The rising Roar from my belly has led me to step away

from not just one man, but several

as the power of connection to my authentic Inner Self

has erupted in tongues of fire and flames

To finally stand firm and speak My Truth.

I now feel Free and Alive,

able to look around at the sky and land and sea

and to see with fresh new eyes

the Beauty of Life that is humming with Joy and Exhilaration

ready to be Embraced, Celebrated and Joined with again.

Sekhmet, Come Sit with Me:

Journey to The Oasis of Truth

And the Land of Lost Hopes and Dreams

Debbie Irvine

Sekhmet sits beside me as I gaze into the deep, cool water,

surrounded by purple and blue Lilies and Lotuses,

under the shady green overhanging Palms,

in the middle of the limitless yellow desert.

As I look on the calm surface of the water,

ripples start circling outwards from the center,

disturbing the illusion of calm and peace,

breaking apart my images, memories and ties to my Past.

Again, more ripples flow outwards,

shattering the mirror of my relationships;

with my husband, my children, my parents, my siblings, my work colleagues, my friends,

the country of my birth and my present home.

The broken pieces of this mirror reflect in the sunlight

inauthentic relationships:

unaware, uncaring, dishonoring, disrespectful,

manipulating, abusive, ignoring, and unloving.

I look beneath the surface of this mirror,

And find in the depths,

new pieces that teach me Truths my body knew all along

during the seven-long years I spent in my own desert of illness and isolation.

As I continue to gaze beneath the surface of the pond,

into the depths where Truth and Love lie,

I see and hear the cries of others also wounded and abandoned,

and know that I must reach out to them too.

For under the surface lies Truth, Love, Care and Authentic Connection,

Peace, Beauty, Joy and Forgiveness.

In these deeper Truths and Love I re-dedicate my Life

To Shining the Light of the Truth of Ma’at and the Fierce Compassion of Sekhmet

And all the Neter of Egypt and our Cosmos.

Sekhmet’s Sycamore Tree

Entering the Temples of Ptah and Sekhmet

A Ceremony and Gift of your Red Bundle

Debbie Irvine

The sun is shining very brightly in the sky and you seek relief from its heat under the shade of the Sacred Sycamore Tree. This tree has medicinal milky white sap which heals the skin. It is also the Sacred Symbol of the Goddess Hathor.

Under the tree in the shade you see Sekhmet in her lioness form lying sleepily on the ground waiting for you. You know that when your Journey is complete, you too can come and rest under the Sycamore Tree with Sekhmet too. But for now, as you approach her, she recognizes you and that it is time to take you into her Temple to show you her statue, and the statue of Ptah her husband and Consort.

You walk along the path between the miniature statues of the Sphinxes into the Temple Courtyard with very tall, pillars, engraved with hieroglyphs reaching up to huge stone slabs that form part of the roof of the Temple. There might be one or two hieroglyphs that particularly catch your attention. What do they look like? Do they have a message for you?

Sekhmet takes you into a small, dark and cool room. The air is dry and musty. As your eyes refocus in the dark you realize it is a Chapel and you see the statue of Ptah in front of you. He has a Pharaonic Beard, a Blue Skull cap, and holds a special scepter with the ankh, djed and was staffs which helps him create, and manifest creation. He is a seer and a prophet. He is to be in charge of a special Welcoming and Initiation Ceremony for you tonight.

As Sekhmet looks lovingly at her Consort Ptah, she nods to him that you are ready to receive your Initiation Bundle wrapped in a Red Cloth. It contains objects and symbols of things in your Life that you are ready to release, and new objects and Symbols of Gifts that you will be able to use in your New Life when you leave this Chapel and go back outside into the world.

You unwrap your bundle and look very closely at each object, taking note of which are to be released and which are to be kept.

You look around the Chapel, to see who else is present and what else is happening. You may see other Gods and Goddesses or your Allies who are also present to support you in your Initiation Ceremony. They may also give you Gifts or messages.

You may choose to walk around the Chapel and talk to some of the Gods and Goddesses, or to sit and rest in the cool dark air and take in the messages that are specially for you in this Ceremony.

Sekhmet sits beside her statue which is next to Ptah’s and waits for you. You may also become aware of her statue and the power present within these Chapels of many years of Ceremonies, Prayers, Meditations and Sanctuary. You will know that you have entered into Inner Sacred Space and received Gifts and messages that will strengthen and inspire you as you cycle through the sun and day-time and the stars and night-time accompanied by Sekhmet and your other Allies.

When you feel you have absorbed all the Gifts, completed your releasing and understood all the Sacred messages for you, you can nod to Sekhmet and she will accompany you out into the daylight to rest under the shade of the sycamore tree as night falls and the stars come out.
