Working With The Sidhe

I write about The Sidhe because they contacted me when I was at Mosswood Hollow WA, in July 2017 for Dream Training with Robert Moss, and again in 2019 at Mosswood Hollow in 2022 as part of my Active Dream Teacher Master Teacher Training with Robert Moss. I continue to work with them and teach about them. They are contacting more and more people around the world to help heal our world. They are not Faeries but their own race, taller and more like us, but with more awareness and love.

Please refer to separate articles on this Website about them in "Read" and Invocations

Who Are the Sidhe?

The Sidhe (pronounced “Shee”) are described in Celtic tradition as a parallel race of beings—sometimes called the “People of Peace,” “Shining Ones,” or “Elvenkind”—who inhabit the subtle realms alongside humanity. Modern spiritual authors such as David Spangler, Jeremy Berg, John Matthews, and Soren Hauge have written extensively about direct contact, collaboration, and partnership with the Sidhe.

Key Authors and Works

David Spangler & Jeremy Berg

  • Card Deck of the Sidhe: In 2011, both David Spangler and Jeremy Berg experienced independent but related contacts with a group of Sidhe who wished to promote closer contact and collaboration with humanity. This resulted in the creation of the Card Deck of the Sidhe, a tool for storytelling, meditation, and oracular work, designed to foster partnership between humans and the Sidhe. The deck is accompanied by a manual and exercises for alignment and communication.

  • Conversations with the Sidhe: David Spangler’s book documents a series of communications with the Sidhe, offering practical wisdom, exercises, and a vision for a new relationship between our worlds.

John Matthews

  • The Sidhe: Wisdom from the Celtic Otherworld: John Matthews traces his connection and conversation with a Sidhe being, sharing wisdom and exercises for alignment. His work emphasizes the Sidhe as “cousins” of humanity, inviting us to remember our kinship and collaborate for planetary healing.

Soren Hauge

  • Books: Finding Your Elven Heart, The Wild Alliance and Call of the Sidhe: Soren Hauge explores the inner realm of the Sidhe, drawing on Celtic myth and modern spiritual experience. His books and workshops guide readers in awakening their “Elven Heart” and building conscious partnerships with the Sidhe for personal and planetary transformation.

J.R.R. Tolkien

  • J.R.R. Tolkien drew inspiration from Celtic and Norse mythology for his portrayal of Elves in “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Silmarillion.” Tolkien’s Elves (Eldar) are immortal, wise, and deeply connected to nature and magic—qualities that closely mirror the Sidhe of Celtic tradition. While Tolkien’s Elves are not explicitly called Sidhe, his legendarium is widely recognized as a literary reimagining of the ancient lineage of faery and elven beings.

W.B. Yeats and the Sidhe

  • W.B. Yeats, the renowned Irish poet and mystic, wrote extensively about the Sidhe (also spelled “Shee” or “Sídhe”) in his poetry, folklore collections, and esoteric writings.

  • In works like Fairy and Folk Tales of the Irish Peasantry and The Celtic Twilight, Yeats describes the Sidhe as the mystical “Fairy Folk” or “People of the Mounds”—ancient, magical beings who dwell in a parallel dimension closely linked to the Irish landscape and mythic history.

  • Yeats considered the Sidhe to be descendants of the Tuatha Dé Danann, a legendary race of godlike beings who retreated into the Otherworld (the “Fairy Mounds”) after being displaced by later settlers in Irish myth.

  • He also associated the Sidhe with the “Shining Ones” and believed they could inspire poets, artists, and mystics, acting as intermediaries between the human and spiritual realms.

(A.E. / George William Russell)

  • The Irish author “AE.” /George William Russell was a contemporary of Yeats and a key figure in the Irish Literary Revival.

  • A.E. wrote extensively about mystical experiences, the Sidhe, and the spiritual dimensions of Irish folklore. He saw the Sidhe as real spiritual beings, ancient kin to humanity, and sources of inspiration and wisdom.

  • Like Yeats, A.E. connected the Sidhe to the Tuatha Dé Danann and described them as “Shining Ones” or “Artificers,” living in a parallel dimension and wishing to guide or inspire humans.

Core Themes in Working with The Sidhe

  • Partnership and Collaboration: The Sidhe are portrayed as wishing to reconnect with humanity, offering wisdom, healing, and partnership to help restore balance to the Earth.

  • Practical Contact: Tools such as the Card Deck of the Sidhe, guided meditations, and exercises are designed to help seekers establish safe, respectful, and meaningful contact with the Sidhe.

  • Healing and Wholeness: Collaboration with the Sidhe is seen as a path to healing both ourselves and the planet, remembering our shared origins and working together for a more harmonious future.

  • Inner Awakening: Authors like Soren Hauge emphasize awakening the “Elven Heart”—the aspect of ourselves that resonates with the Sidhe’s wisdom, beauty, and connection to nature.
