We Remember the qualities of each Element that may bring to us the transformative and Healing qualities as it’s Gifts for us and can add these to our Invocation:
East: Air for New Thoughts, Ideas, and good communications and connection to The Divine
South: Fire for Light, Inspiration, Passion and Transmutation
West: Sea for cleansing, purifying , rest, and healing
North: Earth for nourishment, nurturing, foundation and grounding, Strength Courage and Wisdom from our Elders and from Community
Above: Sky, Stars and the Moon, and the Dreamtime for Cosmic Inspiration, and Belonging
Below: Mother Nature and all her Creatures, for Change, Shapeshifting and Regeneration, for Sincerity and Truth, Creativity and Beauty.
Within: Our Hearts, Love, Compassion, Understanding, Peace and Oneness and our Soul Flame which burns eternally throughout all our lives.
Truth and Sincerity and these other attributes are what Hank teaches specifically related to working with Nature as a Clan or Element and the Yoruba West African Shamanic Traditions. Hank spent many years there in the Peace Corps.
It is also along with The Stone Clan, the most important Shamanic Clan.
The Stone People are the Storytellers, ie Shamans.
It is the key role of the Shaman to Gift New Stories to the Tribe, Community and to assist people to Heal as I remember with Lewis- Mehl-Madrona’s teachings and books and how wonderful a story-teller he is!

Song to the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine
Earth my Body
Water My Soul,
Air my Breath and
Fire My Spirit
Earth my Body
Water My Soul,
Air my Breath and
Fire My Spirit
This is a Woman’s Ritual Song, in fact the first I ever learned in my first Womanspace Workshop February 2014 when I was just beginning Workshops!
I find Groups can sing it repetitively and shake, rattle and roll along with whatever instruments or body parts to build their energy and group interaction. Most of all MOVE, DANCE and SING!
Closing Blessing:
We thank the Spirits of All the Directions, our Guides and Helping Spirits and the Gifts of the Elements for Illuminating, Guiding, Healing and Transforming us in our Journeys tonight.
Apache Blessing of The Elements
Adapted by Debbie Irvine
May the Sun warm you as you walk your Path of Life by day,
Sending you Life-giving energies and the Fires of Transformation
May the radiance of the Moon and Stars shine down on you by night
Softly restoring you and illuminating your Path through the Darkness
May the Rain and Waters wash away
Your worries and sorrows, cleansing and purifying your Body and Soul
May the Wind blow
Fresh strength and the Sacred Breath of Life into your Being
May you walk gently through the World,
On your Path of Life and Dreams,
May you know Her Beauty,
And receive Her Sustenance and Nurturing
May you also find Love, Harmony, and Peace
All the days of your Life.
Mitakuye Oyasin
